SeaSpace Corporation has unveiled its new 61 cm antenna. This antenna can be used shipboard, with an automatic stabilizer, or on land for military applications.
The
61 cm antenna is a lightweight antenna solution for use on stationary land
based, shipboard or mobile platforms. It can receive both L-band and S-band
data from geostationary (LRIT) or low earth orbiting satellites (NOAA, DMSP,
Feng Yun and METOP series). The previous S-band version of the 0.61m antenna
has been used by the USMC for more than 10 years in conjunction with a 0.46m
L-band antenna to capture data from the NOAA and DMSP series of earth
observational satellites. SeaSpace’s innovative design has combined the RF
electronics, yielding one antenna to receive both L- and S-band, resulting in
improved gain, cost, weight, and space savings.
The 0.61m antenna is part of either
the TacSAS (Tactical Satellite Acquisition System) or the WDS III (Weather
Decision Support) Yacht or commercial systems.
